⚠️Artificial Intelligence and EKG
Does EKG Cases AI read or interpret EKGs?
No. EKG Cases' artificial intelligence does NOT read or interpret electrocardiograms. No current LLM (Large Language Model) — including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and others — has acceptable accuracy for EKG interpretation. Studies show an AUC around 0.500 (equivalent to a coin flip). All interpretation and correction on the platform is done by answer keys crafted by specialist cardiologists.
Then what does the AI do in the Premium +AI plan?
The AI in the Premium +AI plan acts exclusively as a pedagogical tool: it analyzes your history of mistakes and correct answers to identify difficulty patterns, suggests priority study topics, and recommends specific cases for you to practice. It never interprets the EKG — that is done by the specialist who created the answer key.
Is it safe to rely on AI to interpret EKGs?
We do not recommend it. Currently, no language model (LLM) has adequate performance for EKG reading. The AUC of major models is around 0.500, meaning performance equivalent to chance. EKG interpretation should always be done by trained physicians. EKG Cases exists precisely to help professionals improve this competency with feedback from human specialists.

What is EKG Cases?
EKG Cases is a tele-EKG shift simulator that allows you to practice interpreting electrocardiograms in a realistic environment. You receive clinical cases with real EKGs, submit your report, and receive feedback based on answer keys crafted by specialist cardiologists.
How does the simulator work?
You receive a clinical case with patient data (age, sex, chief complaint) and the EKG. You analyze the tracing, fill in your report with rhythm, axis, intervals, and findings, and then receive a detailed correction comparing your answer with the specialist's answer key.
Are the EKGs from real patients?
Yes, all EKGs are from real cases, properly anonymized to protect patient privacy. This ensures you practice with authentic tracings, including artifacts and variations you'll encounter in clinical practice.
Who creates the answer keys?
Answer keys are created by Dr. José Alencar, cardiologist and electrophysiologist, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), Fellow of ISHNE (FISHNE), and author of the EKG Textbook.
Plans and Payment
Can I use it for free?
Yes! The free plan allows up to 10 EKGs per month, with detailed feedback and 1 question per report with EKG-AI (5 per month). It's a great way to get to know the platform.
What's the difference between the plans?
The Free plan offers 10 EKGs/month with detailed feedback and 1 AI question per report (5/month). Premium offers unlimited EKGs, detailed feedback, PDF reports, hospital type customization, and 3 AI questions per report (30/month). Premium +AI adds unlimited conversations with EKG-AI and personalized study suggestions.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Premium access continues until the end of the already-paid period, with no additional charges.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Payment is processed securely by Stripe.
Do you issue invoices?
Yes, we issue invoices for all subscriptions. The invoice is sent automatically to your registered email after payment confirmation.
Premium Features
What is hospital type customization?
You can select your workplace (Emergency Room, General Hospital, Cardiology Hospital, Pediatric Hospital) and the system automatically prioritizes the most relevant EKGs for your practice. For example, in the ER you'll see more ischemia and emergency arrhythmia cases.
How does the PDF report work?
After each case, you can download a PDF with the EKG, your report, the specialist's answer key, your score, and detailed explanations of each finding. Ideal for reviewing later or archiving your progress.
Do you have pediatric EKGs?
Yes! We have a growing collection of pediatric EKGs, with the particularities of heart rate, axis, and age-normal variants. Available for Premium subscribers.
What does the AI do in the Premium +AI plan?
The artificial intelligence analyzes your history of mistakes and correct answers to identify patterns. It suggests study topics, recommends specific cases to practice your weaknesses, and provides additional personalized explanations.
Account and Access
I forgot my password. How do I recover it?
On the login screen, click "Forgot password" and enter your email. You'll receive a link to create a new password. The link expires in 1 hour for security.
Can I use it on phone and tablet?
Yes, the platform is responsive and works on any device. For better EKG visualization, we recommend using larger screens (tablet or computer) when possible.
Is my data secure?
Yes, we take security seriously. We use encryption for all communications, your data is stored on secure servers, and we never share personal information with third parties.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us through the support form or email. We'll process the deletion within 48 hours, removing all your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

I found an error in an answer key. What do I do?
We appreciate the feedback! Use the support button to report it. Our team will review the case and, if the error is confirmed, we'll correct it and notify you.
